At the Yaklaş Nişantepe Panels held on December 10th, we talked about the Nişantepe  neighborhood with valuable speakers who were members of many institutions from SOYAÇ to Çimenev and had the opportunity to work with disadvantaged groups, with questions from the audience at the ÖzÜ Forum Area. What can and should be done about the main problems of the neighborhood and its residents was discussed collectively.

 

The panels moderated by Özlem Bahadır Karaoğlu and Okan Pala from the Özyeğin University Sustainability Platform were held under the titles of 'Unknown Street' and 'Starting from Somewhere'. In the first session of the 'Unkown Street' panel, Elmas Arus shared important information about Romanys and Nişantepe Neighborhood, which will also provide the basis for future projects for Nişantepe District. In the second session of the panel, the works of Çekmeköy Municipality, Maltepe University - SOYAÇ, Tarlabaşı Community Center were discussed with the speeches of the panel speakers Mümtaz Özdem, Esma Figen Karadayı, Narin Bağdatlı Vural and Melike Arslan. In the first session of the panel 'Starting from Somewhere', the works of Istanbul Bilgi University - Migration Studies Application and Research Center and Çimenev campus were discussed. In the last session of the panel, Ali Denizci emphasized that everyone is responsible for what they see and hear.
